PRINTMAKING
PRESSED AND POPPED ANIMALS
Students printed animals from Styrofoam plates to cut out and compose three-dimensionally on a two-dimensional habitat drawn with oil pastels. They came to understand how to turn a drawing into a print using a Styrofoam plate, ink, baren and brayer. Line became a way to explore texture. And oil pastels facilitated ecological learning through the creation of animal habitats.
